War Robots: FrontiersWar Robots: Frontiers
This is the PC-Console "reboot" to the mobile War Robots game. If you've been on the internet at all, you would have gotten an ad for one of the games at some point which generally is not a good indicator for a nice honest product. While I enjoy the gameplay, I have many gripes with it and many more outside of battles. As a Free-to-Play game, it is rife with monetisation tricks. - you can obtain new parts for your robot by crafting, however it is level-locked and you level up very slowly to push you to the shop. whether you purchase parts with grinded free currency or not, this is a shitty practice. - There are 5 currencies you can use to purchase, craft and upgrade your stuff... I cannot tell you which does what. - The crafting and more importantly, the building mechanics were very poorly explained. Just the usual mobile game tutorial of "click this menu thingy, then this other menu thingy, then this other menu thingy. we will not explain. Get confused and buy stuff from the store.” - while you may think pay-to-win players purchase all the best robot parts and weapons, as of writing, this is mostly untrue. They just upgrade the weapons. speaking of... - There are two very powerful playstyles. Either Flamethrower Rushdown or cross-map sniping+missiles. If you're close enough to use a rifle, you're close enough to use a shotgun. If you're close enough to use a shotgun, you can use a flamethrower. If you're outside of this range, run away and snipe. - Missiles can be blocked by terrain and buildings. You will have no idea what actually blocks missiles until you try it. - In my experience, tracking missiles can only be blocked, not avoided. - Every part is listed with a manufacturer. I have no idea if this matters. I don't remember if it was ever explained. - Every weapon has an ammunition type (kinetic, blast, etc). I have no idea if this matters. I don't remember if it was ever explained. - Every pilot has a list of... stuff I think they're good at? I have no idea if this matters. I don't remember if it was ever explained. - Pilots can be levelled up. I have no idea if this matters. I don't remember if it was ever explained. - Torso parts have unique abilities. This does matter. I don't remember if it was ever explained. - Parts are not shared. You must make/buy more of a part to use it on another robot if you don’t want to have to disassemble and reassemble every time you swap robots. - Weapons can (and should) be upgraded. THIS IS NOT SHARED. YOU WILL HAVE TO UPGRADE EVERY SINGLE COPY OF A WEAPON. - Titans are large, fixed loadout robots with a variety of weapons and lots of damage especially for their tankiness and speed. Titans are very powerful, as they should be but can be oppressive. - You can bring 5 robots + 1 titan with you to battle. You can go with less HOWEVER, in these act as your lives/respawns. - AMOUNT OF ROBOTS IS NOT BALANCED PER TEAM. ONE TEAM CAN HAVE LESS OVERALL LIVES THAN THE OTHER. I miss Titanfall

This game is so great, I've already spent more time in battles than the developers behind the development!

THIS GAME IS NOT P2W A lot of people misunderstand the game as being p2w but you are gated behind a resource on upgrades that requires you to do dailies/weeklies to get. It's a blue upgrade material. Paying skips the other grinds but you can't upgrade your equipment without playing the game the same as everyone else. The game is overall pretty good. Combat is fun. The only thing lacking is that there isn't much depth to content and equipment. It's a great mech game to pick up and play for short term.

Pls dont ruin this game like they ruined the mobile game

Enjoyable, lets hope this doesn't end up like the p2w version, if does i'm out!

It's fun until you get in the higher leagues (Platinum+) Then the matches are just mortar lobbers from the edge of the map, and stealth flamers.

Played alot of the beginning then get to pay pigs with EMP to not only kill ur shields but also wallhack you and then rain down missiles from spawn..... Idiots wtf are you thinking.... I'm out, ya fucked it up... sad...

It's a good game. It's free to play. The pay-to-win aspect of the game is VASTLY overstated to the point of absurdity. People are just mad that there is a battlepass that you could pay real money to bypass. Game mechanics are simple enough to understand. After a round or two you'll get the hang of everything and really start holding your own. While not perfect, this game is definitely a gem in a sea of shit online offerings. Pick this game up, maybe toss the devs a couple bucks if you like it, and have fun blowing the crap out of giant robots!

I LOVE THE GAME

It's a good game, i'm a veteran War Robots player before it became P2W, and I wholeheartedly recommend this game, or at least the current state of this game. 1. P2W Concerns - The game is very forgiving for F2P players, you can get most stuff by grinding normally, and hoping that you're lucky enough to get the parts you need from the daily-randomizing store. Most stuff that are locked behind paywalls aren't that overpowered, the paywall only removes the grind (Just finished building the mech that is currently on sale in the advertisement, entirely from earnable credits). Your skill matters on the battlefield, not the gear, got no problem going against premium players so far. 2. Beautiful graphics and solid gameplay & feel - Even the environment is fully decorated with little props that your mech can step on and destroy, making the player feel like they're actually controlling a heavy combat mech. Also the interaction between mech weight & walk animation is really impressive. - Not to mention the weapon animations and effects, absolute eye-candy. 3. Matchmaking - Game does not have skill-based matchmaking, which is nice, and terrible at the same time because i keep getting matched up with the useless guy from the last round who doesn't play seriously. - When match doesn't have enough players, Bots are filled in. And good lord, they're the best teammates you can ever ask for. They have no fear, highly tactical, cunning and knows their battlefield. Literally can carry Warp point capture matches without a sweat.

This game is clearly not P2W, you just have to play the game and almost everything else is obtainable as you level up, except for some of the pilots since they are locked behind a pay-wall but its not that game changing imho. Sure you can dump your money here but you will still have to do the dailies and weeklies in order to get the resources to upgrade and improve your equipments just like everyone else. And daily offers in the Store is already enough to acquire the uncommon parts that is seen in the overpriced starter pack bundles. Overall, it is an aight game and I think everyone should give it a try! :D

Graphics and design is really good, but i hate i cant actually buy the weapons / modules i want, i have to rng the shop to hopefully find a part i like... that just seem like a time sink to get you to waste gold you could be spending buying stuff you actually want. the "grind for upgrade level" mechanic is getting so old no one got the time to grind them. if devs truly want this game to become esport level they need to make every weapon and module balanced and accessible, remove upgrade system and premium time no one got enough money or time now a days to add another subscription. if i have to spent hundreds of hrs to fully upgrade a build i want without paying for rng and premium then i dont have time for it. i guarantee if you make this a paid game, have every weapon accessible for a reasonable grind, have a battlepass for cosmetic only, remove upgrades and focus on balance it ll be the best mech shooter atm. STOP BEING SO GREEDY edit#1 been playing to see when ill hit the p2w wall, but so far ive been at around top of the score board every game but im still at level 18. im usually above average in every game i play so this is to be expected. gonna keep playing until otherwise edit#2 level 22 atm and now i realize its for sure a p2w game, there's hero pilots u can only buy with real money who have 3 stats boost per rank up instead of 1, the upgrade system is broken since they improve your kill potential significantly. for example if your running 3 level 1 flamer most the time you barely kill 1 enemy from full whereas if you max level them you can kill 2 full health enemy with 1 clip, ive seen that happen a lot more common now, and if you buy premium currency (warpeals) you can use those to pay for salvage which surprise surprise its used in upgrading parts. you pay to progress much faster with premium since it give you additional daily / weekly missions on top of bonus rewards per game. This game can be so much more, imagine if they just adopt league of legends monetise system but instead they shill out to the pay pigs and have this stupid upgrade system which makes them impossible to balance any parts cause no one's at the same level ever. they'll introduce new op parts which the pay pigs will spent hundreds of dollars to speed up levels on then they'll nerf it to the ground and introduce others parts. the same cycle their mobile game used to do but on a much slower scale in order to lure players into spending money on a seemly fair game. im still on the top of my leader boards consistently without spending or upgrading anything due to my skill and builds, but most people aren't tryhards like me and they'll just get deleted on repeat by kids with identical 5 max leveled flame builds. this game will never amount to anything but a whale trap if they dont overhaul their entire monetization / upgrade system yeah literally unplayble getting 1 shotted everygame same old greedy mobile game with better graphics

Just because the game is made by the same company who made War Robots doesn't mean this is bad! Lemme put this out there! THE GAME IS NOT MADE BY THE EXACT SAME DEVELOPERS WHO MADE WR, IT IS A DIFFERENT TEAM. Also, the game isn't very p2w as you might think, so give it a try! I strongly recommend it! Edit: All that the people are saying in the reviews is just that the game is p2w, has clunky movement, and other stuff, but I still like this game! Devs are very active in discussions and often do events to help you earn currency in the game. Support the developers!

played for 200 hours and purchased pioneer pack for nothing sucks you lose all items and levels now that its out ive lost all interest in this game... thanks for the waste of time

I thought this is War Robots Classic or something... But it's the same bloated, pay to win game with the same terrible matchmaking. What's even the point of it then?

Extremely solid foundation with a lot of possibilities as an entry game!! This game would EITHER become P2W cash grab and screw everything up OR implement more progression systems and become successful in long run. Dear devs, Your game is carrying a future. As a player who's supporting your game since 2022, from the bottom of my heart, please don't disappoint us.

Definitely would recommend this game to anyone. The player base is active and very supportive, the game is very engaging, and there are no pay to win aspects in the game. Granted the game does have a few bugs to work out, but the fun game play is worth those bugs.

Uodate: very repetitive, not that great. Even on release just not a game worth playing unless you desperately want to play with mechs and can't afford MechWarrior or Armoured Core 6 it's ok for now, however, this company has a reputation for saying 1 thing and then doing a COMPLETE 180 and even making the thing they said they would never do even worse. For now the game is mid at best, Armoured Core 6 and mechwarrior 5 are out rn which already is better than this game in every way imaginable. Low ceiling game, not recommend (and I'm an alpha tester with 2500 hours in their other game)

bacis is hugely downgrade vision of war robot. Nice things first you have to aim in this one and the map are largers now for the bad it paytowin. it have no macth making a all very few robot to play or setup option shud probly say most do wiht robot the self sind ther option mix annd macth but stand one you cant realy change most els they get heavy or use too most engery if diff wepaon mostly. might be more option later on but i have burn out befor getting guess low amount option a lower made 2 robot if found kind fun to play. sim kind have small playbase too most of my game wiht 3-4 player per side and 3-4 bots perside
