I was a killer, a nice happy killer, hooked someone here and there. Not a big deal, until one day I picked up a lady and she wiggled at a speed I haven't seen previously. At first I thought it was a macro, but than I realized it was because our generation is so good at twerking that no killer will ever be able to hook some people ever again. 10/10 would get twerked on while murdering.

7/2/25 Update I want to give a negative but I don't want to lose my ratings. I've supported this game since launch. Over the years I've swapped between which side I main several times. The game has never felt less balanced and as terrible as it does now. -Every killer that gets released can do it all, it's not even fun to play killer anymore. Just the same 3 powers being copied, slightly changed and pasted onto the next killer. Every match as survivor is the same 3 killers on loop: Ghoul, Springtrap, Lich. No one else, ever. Ya'll release the most busted sh*t on these new killers but TRAPPER STARTING WITH ALL OF HIS TRAPS WITHOUT AN ADD-ON WOULD BE TOO STRONG!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! MAKE IT MAKE SENSE BHVR. -The servers are almost as bad as they were back when the lobbies were killer hosted by someone on McDonald's WiFi, and being matched with Guatemalan killers at noon northeast NA is some crazy work. -The "sKiLL bASeD mM" with "HiDdEn mMr" is a sad f*cking joke. Back in the days of color-based ranks I consistently hit Red 1 on both roles every month. The killers were good players, but more importantly, SO WERE MY TEAMMATES=fun matches, that felt fair most of the time. Instead of that I now get matched with maybe one player who knows what they're doing if I'm lucky, and the other 2 are console players hiding in the corner with Sprint Burst, Urban Evasion and Self-Care and haven't even looked at a generator in 8 minutes because they heard terror radius for a half a second. The complete disconnect in skill-level between console and PC players needs to be studied. -They have now implemented a "GG Go Next Prevention" I GET IT, I truly get why it had to happen. BUT if you're going to force people to stay in a match where the killer tunneled someone out at 5 gens, then proceeds to hold the lobby hostage, you need to also add a SURRENDER MATCH option that can be voted on. If my teammate checks out, I would also like to have the option to get tf out of the match and not be FORCED to play out an already determined match. Having to wait until everyone is being slugged to have the option to DC isn't good enough. The game just isn't fun anymore, no wonder you have to force people to stay in matches. ****ORIGINAL REVIEW**** Sat in a closet and watched the killer chase my team around the last generator for 15 minutes. Nach ein paar Spielen stellte ich fest, dass ich nicht viel Spaß hatte, dachte aber: „Es ist ein neuer Patch, ich muss lernen, wie man das Spiel mit all diesen Änderungen spielt“, und nach ein paar Stunden habe ich einfach keinen Spaß mehr … Das Stapeln von Vorteilen, um die Gengeschwindigkeit nach den zusätzlichen 10 Sekunden zur Fertigstellung eines Generators noch weiter zu reduzieren, ist einfach zu mühsam. Und die neu eingebaute „geliehene Zeit“ hat dazu geführt, dass andere Überlebende weniger geliehene Zeit mitbringen, aber die Zeit ist so kurz, dass ich das Gefühl habe, getunnelt zu werden, und kann nicht einmal DS dazu bringen, zu versuchen, dem entgegenzuwirken. Ich werde mir etwas Zeit nehmen, um den Patch weiter auszuprobieren, aber ich habe das Gefühl, dass ich das Spiel für eine Weile ablegen werde, und das macht mich traurig. I found some people in the woods, and I hunted them down one by one, slashing their backs up with my machete. I dragged their bodies through the muddy forest canvas to hang them from a hook, from there I just had to wait for the spider demon to take their bodies to hell as my sacrifice. When I got home, Dead by Daylight had finally installed and I started playing this game. Its really good btw.

This community is so nice and helpful, I got a lot of tips on how to uninstall the game and kill myself.

As a survivor, this game will scare you in a way that makes you keep wanting to get scared (read: continue playing) no matter how afraid you become in the middle of the game. As a killer, please try to not spam the bell as Wraith. It sounds so creepy and freezes me in place whenever I hear it ): 9/10 right now. 10/10 once developers add custom sound effects, so instead of hearing scary footstep sounds when the killer is near, I hear this.

Great game, everytime you start it up it's like playing the game for the first time. Because you are. Because your progress gets deleted.

The game has a lot of potential but is ran by people that don't have a vision and only care about themselves and what they think is best for the game. I have played since 2016 Beta and have more than 10,000 hours of actual playtime on this (my personal account) and previously worked at BHVR on the game. If this was years ago.. I would have recommended the game without any question. However, with the game's current state and direction, I could never recommend it to anyone under any circumstance. It's just going downhill and that's the reality of it. They are partnering with anyone in an attempt to stay relevant and keep quarterly stats up but that only lasts for a week and then it's back to being a dead game for the most part. If you ever decide to work at this company, just note that your personal account is at high risk of being permanently banned if you are accused of anything and are wrongfully terminated as a result. They will not only ban your dev account (which is fine) but your personal account as well, which is actual bullsh*t and petty. I'm living proof of this. They won't conduct a proper and thorough investigation behind their claims before terminating an employee and will sh*t all over your 6-years of dedicated gameplay, time spent and work into a product that you once loved and cared for to the point that you even took a job to work on the game to make it better not just for yourself but for the community who also loves the game. Clueless company making clueless decisions on a game that they're clueless about since they don't play it. I was one of the literal few at the company who has more than 4,000 hours of actual gameplay in the game. P.S. they still haven't fixed the IP leak vuln that has been the cause of people being DDoSed, doxed, swatted and much more. They've known about it for over 2 years now and refuse to fix something so simple while knowing what the root cause of it is and know what exactly to fix. Just to give you an idea of how little they care... I brought this up before and during my time working there and it was never fixed. We're now going into 2023 with this vulnerability that's been in the game for over 4+ years. Still think BHVR cares about you now? Their main focus is and always has been to make money and that's why this issue has never been addressed even though their own Fog Whisperers like Otzdarva, Elix and many others have questioned why they haven't fixed it yet and are victims to these issues. Their priorities are all over the place and have no idea how to run a game company let alone keep the community safe. It's pretty evident that these are the facts. They would rather ban innocent people than to solve the huge security risks and flaws in the game. It's disgusting and this type of "behaviour" should not be condoned. I'm more surprised Valve/Steam is even allowing the game to remain playable on their platform considering the company refuses to fix these issues that is allowing these events take place. Cheaters? I won't get into that. Everyone knows the answer to this already. The company looks at them as paying customers that deserve respect (direct quote from an employee that's in a leadership role btw) and would rather keep them around than get rid of them entirely. -Safety Depips / Beast / Antiddos

This game. This game is like a methed out stripper with the world's most prime example of a 'butter face'. You pop seven honey packs while she tugs at your shirt to bring you behind the building where the prettiest sight is the dumpster with handlebars for her to grab onto. You're thinking to yourself, "Fuck, anything is better than nothing" No. You're wrong. You wake up with a burning, itching nutsack and heroin needles stuck in your arm. I have played Dead by Daylight long enough to know that this is not a game. This is a curse. A loop of anguish disguised as a multiplayer horror experience. If hell had patch notes, they’d look exactly like DBD’s. It is a psychological torture chamber duct-taped together with piss, rust, and false hope. It’s the gaming equivalent of someone whispering “trust me” right before pushing you down a flight of stairs, then charging you for cosmetics on the way down. At first glance, it seems harmless. Spooky, even fun. Fix some generators, run from a killer, escape. How hard could it be? That’s how it gets you. Dead by Daylight is a poisoned apple. It looks shiny. Crisp. You take a bite, and before you know it, you’re foaming at the mouth, crawling through a nightmare landscape of camping Bubbas and teammates who couldn’t outsmart a Roomba. That feeling dies faster than a Meg running in a straight line. This game doesn’t play you, it gaslights you. It convinces you that if you just try harder, you’ll enjoy it. That next game will be different. It won’t be. DBD is Sisyphus with a skill check, and the boulder is on fire. The gameplay loop is a hamster wheel from Hell, greased with survivor blood and killer tears. Every match feels like waking up in a Saw trap where the only way to escape is to play the same four maps against the same four meta perks while being chased by the same three killers who play like it’s a job and you're the unpaid intern. Want to play killer? Hope you enjoy being flashlight-blinded by a SWF squad with comms sharper than a military operation, tea-bagging you at every pallet like you owe them money. Want to play survivor? Get ready to be tunneled like the killer spotted you in a dream once and took it personally. You'll spend 80% of the match crouching in a bush, praying your teammates weren’t spawned directly from a YouTube comment section. The matchmaking system was forged in the deepest pits of digital hell. It doesn’t care. You could be new, hopeful, full of light. The Entity does not care. It will match you with a Prestige 100 Blight main who treats your existence like a personal offense. This game is a slot machine designed by a drunk Cenobite. Everything is RNG. Spawns? RNG. Skill checks? RNG. Killer powers? RNG wrapped in lag. You’ll get hit around corners, downed through pallets, and blamed for it by a game engine held together with bubble gum and trauma. Playing Dead by Daylight is like being stuck in an elevator playing clown music while someone slaps you every 30 seconds and occasionally throws bloodpoints at your face as a reward. And you’ll thank them. You’ll thank them because you’ve been conditioned to think this is normal. It is not normal. This game is an abusive loop of dopamine spikes and absolute despair. It’s like getting back together with an ex because they said they’ve changed — and they have. They’ve gotten worse. And they brought friends.
