"The GTA Online profile associated with this Rockstar Games account is not eligible for migration at this time." If you think i'm throwing away nearly 700 hours of gameplay on one character so that you can make a few more bucks off me, then you can lick my anal orifice clean.
This is an objective downgrade from the "old" version. Gonna pretend this was never released & continue to enjoy Legacy version until the new game comes out when I'm 60.

The craziest part, my NOT modded account in ANY way, and very few of my friend have the same issue, the oldest accounts can't be migrated. Basically they not gonna state the reason why your account can't be migrated, just automatic response that your account can't because it have been flagged. They suspect u, but doesn't know for sure. So download a new version, buy shark card, start all over again)) this company worse than ubisoft/ea. They don't even ban people!!! They just want YOU to start all over again(without ANY reason) and buy more shark cards!!
Got 2 responses from support. Tried to argue with them, they said they can't change migration problem, all changes even if they wrong final.
Thanks for your reply.
As we mentioned before, your account is not eligible for migration at this time. More information can be found in this article: "link was here"

Thanks in advance for your understanding.

Difference between Legacy and Enhanced
It's mostly just a GTA Online upgrade, the changes in single player are minimal. But at least Take Two decided to release this for free. It would have been a very Take Two thing to charge for this.Review
GTA V might not be the best GTA title, but it is the only GTA title that could have retained and expanded its playerbase for as long as it has. GTA Online was a massive success for Rockstar and will surely play a big part in the next installment. While it might not be the "best" in the series, it's still a fantastic game with a great story, great gameplay, great visuals and just great everything, like what you would expect from Rockstar Games. Singleplayer is solid and I completed the campaign a dozen times. I also spent a great deal of time in GTA Online, around 1000 hours and it was super fun at release, I just lost interest as cheaters appeared and Rockstar's counter for that was raising prices ingame, which resulted in future missions and expansions paying a lot more than the previous and the game eventually ended up with a crazy inflation that has gotten so out of hand that money now has no meaning in the game at all. It also doesn't help that every update had to be wilder than the previous in order to drive engagement and sell more Shark Cards. This resulted in the horrible mess that is freeroam in GTA Online now. An always on deathmatch of total destruction. Where the city is full of kids on flying bikes gunning you down at every corner and even while hiding in passive mode, they will still try to blow your eardrums out with loud explosions and repeated gunfire. For GTA 6, please separate GTA Online and Single Player into two different executables, so we can freely mod Single Player and a proper anti cheat can be applied for the online experience. ____________ Follow my Curator136 votes funny

(Edit: Thank you everyone who agreed with my review, I really appreciate it!)
Rockstar truly did the bare minimum improving the game & the absolute maximum integrating GTA+.
They removed lots of content, removed text chat in Online mode, cannot transfer your Online characters / save over if someone dropped you money in-game many years ago (even if you tried to avoid it), no aim assist for controller users (I only use a controller when flying anyway, so this means nothing to me), removed graphical settings & limited others, & very clearly heavily implemented GTA+ in to the game.
I blame everyone that supports these micro-transactions & subscription services; it definitely lead to getting 'this' for an 'Enhanced' Edition.
Grand Theft Auto V: Enhanced was clearly not created to be enhanced by performance & quality, but for in-game purchases in mind; they added the very, very least they could possibly do in terms of lighting, shadows, reflections, & practically nothing else.
It truly feels like a shadow of the Legacy Edition & the only part of the community they visibly had in mind was how much more money they could take from those willing to pay extra, since purchasing the video-game clearly was not enough.
I played Grand Theft Auto V since I pre-ordered it for my CECHA01 PS3 in 2013, & I am ultimately disgusted by the outcome of this re-release.
Honestly, even though I have a microphone, I am not too sure I would want Grand Theft Auto VI at all without text chat in Grand Theft Auto: Online, especially since players who do not have a microphone, will not be able to communicate. How are people doing the "Pacific Standard Job" in Grand Theft Auto V: Enhanced Edition: Online, supposed to communicate with each other in the setup that involves two drivers & two navigators, without microphone? They simply reasonably can not.
The ONLY positive upside I could think of in regard to all of this is, for a very short very limited amount of time, we will be free of modders, hackers, & cheaters on GTA: Online.
I really, really hope for all our sake, that Grand Theft Auto VI does not turn out this way in the slightest. Grand theft Auto V: Enhanced Edition truly dampens that hope severely for a good release to come from Rockstar in the future.
Update June 5th, 2025: Take-Two Interactive & 2K Games have been ruining video-games as we have known & enjoyed them all these years with updates to their Terms of Service. It is likely these same Terms of Service updates would make their way to the upcoming title; it would disallow a variety of methods used to run or connect to the game & or modify the game in any shape or way, while also collecting information they have no consent nor right to collect, to simply put. It is shameful that there is still not a higher regard to consumer protection & especially consumer rights in this day & age.

Game looks the same, works the same and after a whole edition upgrade still no HDR support. Why even bother with this release?
Edit:
Yes, I have a HDR capable monitor, i have HDR enabled in display settings and my OSD, steam shows it as a tag in all HDR ready games but not in this release or the legacy one. No, my HDR is not washed out like yours potentially, i research before i buy.
For anybody and everybody whos says it is appearing as an option for them ingame, help me out instead of being snarky in the comments.
There is a difference between upscaling pre-existing texture and revamping them, look at the tiles in michael's house and minute details to really know that no genuine effort went into making this port. And too all the R* meat riders simmer down. this is not your product and yes you can demand better from an update for a game released 13 years ago. Its literally ancient.

I can't migrate either of my two accounts. R* support is completely useless and can't help. With the game being over 10 fucking years old I am sure as hell not going to completely restart all my progress in online just to get marginally better graphics (if that) and HSW and whatever other minuscule shit they added.
Enhanced should have been an update directly applied to the game we already had, not an entirely new game. So now if you have friends on staying on Legacy but some are on Enhanced, you have to have TWO versions of the SAME EXACT GAME installed just to play with them both. And if for whatever reason applying these updates to the Legacy version just wasn't possible, R* should have automatically transferred everyone's data to the new version without having to worry about this migrating bullshit.
Some of the reasons listed as why you might not be able to migrate are:
-Previous bans or suspensions
-Illegitimate earnings
-Insufficient progress
I've heard about level 8000 players and people with hundreds of billions of dollars getting through but tons of legit players are being told they can't. All I have to say is fuck you Rockstar, stop denying players from playing your game. We aren't buying shark cards to make up for the money we lost because we couldn't migrate. If anything these players are going to stop playing the game because of this.
We have all known for a long time that R* doesn't like, nay, hates us PC players and it's just blatantly obvious at this point. It took them 1.5 years to release the game on PC when it originally launched. Enhanced took them almost THREE YEARS to port to PC, that's beyond ridiculous. And of course in typical R* fashion, they are going to hold GTA 6 back from PC for another probably year and a half for no good reason. Not to mention completely bricking support for Linux machines when they rolled out Battleye for no real good reason.
At the end of the day, they aren't going to change anything no matter how much we complain. R* hates us PC players and there's no getting around it. So all I can say is fuck you Rockstar, stop treating us like shit. This game is almost 12 years old and you're going to pull some shit like this? You deserve much more shit than you'll ever get.

A modding group took years to transfer the GTA IV Liberty City map to GTA V Single Player, only for Rockstar to hit them with a cease and desist. Rockstar has been doing this to numerous modding projects over the years, including RE3 & REVC for classic GTA titles.

They removed Text chat, you have to be online for story mode now and they added a subscription service now.
At last they also added an awful anticheat with does nothing exept to stop linux or steam deck users from playing the game, since it doesnt work for Linux.
Awesome update, Thanks Rockstar

Have over 1k hours on the Legacy version. Ray tracing is great, performance is super crisp on a 4090 on a ultrawide monitor. Happy this is a 100% flawless PC port, and haven't ran into a hacker yet. Overall really happy with this free update. Edit: After 143 hours played I still stand by this review.

The new graphics work well but they removed text chat entirely. Online is unplayable with voice only.

Exactly the same as the Legacy Version, runs 5% better and the graphics are the same.
They removed Text chat, you have to be online for story mode now and they added a subscription service now.
At last they also added an awful anticheat with does nothing exept to stop linux or steam deck users from playing the game, since it doesnt work for Linux.
Awesome update, Thanks Rockstar

Have been playing since 2013 on PS3. Countless hours put into the game. Have been a legit player since day one. Aside from some lobbies that were impossible to avoid that included modders who forcibly dropped money on you because of Rockstars non existent anti-cheat, I've never done anything illegitimately.
"Your account is not eligible for migration at this time."
Yeahhhh im not starting over with a level 575 character. Get fucked Rockstar. What a joke. 3200+ hours gone.
