I bought Quarantine Zone: The Last Check expecting a tense zombie management sim and instead got promoted to the most stressful customer service job in the apocalypse. Five stars, would absolutely deny entry again. This game turns you into the bouncer of the end times. Every survivor waddles up looking suspicious, coughing like they just ate drywall, and it is your job to decide if they get safety or a fast track to the lab where science definitely does not ask for consent. The screening tools make you feel incredibly smart until you realize you just missed the guy hiding contraband, three bite marks, and what is clearly a cursed artifact in his backpack. The real magic is how good it feels to fail. One bad call and suddenly your camp is on fire, the alarms are screaming, and you are piloting drones like a caffeinated action hero trying to clean up your own mistakes. Resource management is tight, cruel, and weirdly satisfying. Nothing makes you feel powerful like balancing food rations while a zombie pounds on the gate because you were too nice earlier. Then there is the moral dilemma system, which politely asks if you would like to save lives or harvest people for science. I told myself I would be compassionate. I lied. The upgrade tree is shiny and my conscience is weak. Despite all the chaos, the game runs smoothly and looks great while doing it. Even when everything is collapsing, it collapses at a respectable frame rate. Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is funny, brutal, and dangerously addictive. It makes you laugh, panic, and question your ethics all at once. If you ever wanted to feel important while accidentally causing disaster, this game understands you perfectly. Update to my review 14/01/2026, new patch is out and Fixed the soft lock issue on Day 4 - Players are no longer getting locked during the base upgrade tutorial, as they are no longer able to purchase Tier 2 Checkpoint upgrade ahead of schedule. The developers are amazing and quick to fix issues. Now at nearly 11 hours, and I swear the longer I look at these zombies, the more I feel bad for them as I pop them in the head and call "Next!" for the poor sap who just saw me blow a hole in the last persons head bigger then the the last poo I took on the toilet. This game deserves GOTY and it's only been 14 days into 2026.

PSA: DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR BASE UNTIL PROMPTED, it will softlock you out and need to restart the campaign Hope they patch this soon. otherwise, great game 10/10 will keep Crazy Dave in my base! ==Update== They patched the softlock mentioned above If only they can provide us with a better flashlight, this lousy crap keeps flickering and so dim smh And fix the toggle to crouch too while you're at it!

The dev added himself, and the men wear thongs, Literally unplayable.

Yes, the game is fun, but the number of bugs I encountered in just 2 hours is a joke. The game soft-locked me twice, forcing me to restart. I also experienced several graphical glitches. A major issue is the flashlight: it worked fine in the demo, but in the full release it’s broken. I mean, come on—don’t you have testers for this? At the moment, this game is not worth its price. I regret buying it. After so many delays, they still haven’t fixed bugs that were already present in the demo. I’m leaving this negative review to inform others about what they’re likely to experience and to help them make their own decision. After 4 hours of playtime, I’m going to stop playing because there are simply too many bugs and glitches. Hopefully, the developers fix these issues soon.

It's nice. For the first half hour. An interesting approach to a zombie game. It doesn't take itself too seriously, and there are little action sequences here and there that break up the gameplay. Technically not very impressive, but it doesn't need to be. It's a shame, though, that the immersion suffers because of a few things. For example, NPCs don't look at YOU, but always look in one direction, even when they're talking to you. But the worst thing is the bug that has already been mentioned many times. After a few minutes (about 30 in my case), the game becomes “pixelated.” Even restarting only helped for a short time. Definitely not a recommendation at this point. Due to the many reports of this exact problem, I see no reason to say, “Hey, it just came out, so there will definitely be a hotfix soon.” Yes, it will come. But offering something like this for sale in the first place is audacious.

So its called Quarantine Zone: The Last Check. I dont get even 3 days in and it turns into some kind of horde shooter? I feel the game is confused about what it is. Is it a Simulator game or a Shooter game? Cant recommend based on this mixed identity. I also saw no way to skip or play without the Shooter part of the game. So I am forced to do the long annoying shooter part if I want to play the simulation part.

While the game play is fun, the amount of game-breaking bugs is abysmal. Bugs that prevent core mechanics of game play, such as contraband items not being visible on the X-Ray machine, should not be occurring on release day. We should not normalize this. This game should have remained in development or perhaps been released as Early Access. At this time, I would not recommend this game.

Why do the male survivors have bigger titties than the female ones more than half the time?

Was having fun, and enjoying the game until I had to protect the wall with a drone and all my remapping I did had no affect on the controls of the drone making the game unplayable for me. So I had to refund the game. But that's ok some might be able to play it that way, but I also read that instead of it trying to be kind of realistic that put in silly things that happen which takes me of character.

Green skin, red eyes and few bites. Yup, clean.

For some reason, the game stopped to work on Linux through proton when the release is out. Beta worked excellently. EDIT: -DX11 launch command helps to launch the game. I'll leave a negative review because the review will be lost due to it won't to have rating.

I played for almost 2 hours and this game gave me the creeps. It's voyeuristic with the tools, and the ability to inflict harm (the hammer leaves visible bruises) on humans who are under authoritarian control is just awful. I understand the premise, but it's no longer fun for me. Shooting zombies is fun because they aren't real and they aren't human (anymore). Having people under your control with the ability to send them to be executed, to put them in a glass cell where they may possibly be eaten and then torched, it touches a very weird vibe for me that the base management part of the sim just can't overcome.

Edit: Apparently the people here disagreeing with me instantly refrain to insulting me and making assumptions about me and my personal life and also bring up comparisons that have nothing to do with the game at all to try prove a point. Doesn't change the fact that this game is disappointing and frustrating, only makes it worse knowing that this is what its community looks like. Sadly I still can't recommend this game the way it turned out after all.

Graphics seem to pixelate randomly, becoming an unplayable blur. You can't rebind all keys (sprint is stuck on left shift).

Gives strong vibes of both 'Papers, Please!' and 'Contraband police' but for zombies. Very good game with a unique idea and setting, not something that you see these days.

Brilliant. Highly addictive. Been playing the demo for months waiting for full version. Only a little bit into the game and it's already 100% more then the demo. Seems a good story mode and has a endless mode which seems a good idea 🙂

This game saved my life. I am 39. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and adopted our son together. They are now both 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I found myself lost and miserable. I was self destructive. I got so mad one day from everything spiraling out of my control that I punched some concrete in a moment of overwhelming emotion. That caused me to break my 5th metacarpal in my right hand... my working hand... my games hand.. the hand that I held and carried my children to bed with.. The hand I desperately needed to make sure I could continue to provide. After learning of the severity of my self-inflicted damage, I was borderline suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man with no history of depression or anxiety. I have never had fits of rage, or been one to break down and cry, but I was in a low spot that just really buried me from being able to see the light on the other side. Having nothing better to do, I searched for a game I could play, ONE HANDED while I recovered. I somehow stumbled upon this game and read some of the reviews. I decided that it had to be worth a shot... I must admit, I didn't beat the game, or play nearly as long as some of you. In fact, I may have only played this game a day or two.. With that being said, after doing so, I had a new found joy and hope for life. I was able to put behind me the pain and suffering that had been cast over me. I was able to experience other peoples joy and happiness. I was able to see the fruits of my "labor". I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ing minutes to this music long enough to realize that I was going to be okay. After coming to that realization, I turned the game off, and I went back to work. It hurt my hand like hell but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so damn sorry for myself, and I became the father I needed to be in that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving as. Today, I am close friend with my kids mother. We don't fight, or argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents, and friends. I now have 3 kids. My third child is, wait for it, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my own separation, and we just stumbled in to each others life unexpectedly. We have been in a relationship for a year now, and are very happy together. Moral of the story, you never know what life holds in store for you, and if I would have given up when all the odds were stacked against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.

I really loved the idea of this game. This game really had me thinking and dreaming of what a fun survival management zombie game could be. The demo was a banger, I genuinely couldn't stop thinking about the demo the entire dev cycle. However, after buying it within 30 minutes of it releasing, I gotta say, it didn't really live up to what I had hoped for. Maybe it was just me expecting too much, maybe it was me miss understanding what the Dev's vision was for the game. However, upon release esspecially for a first time game, I was expecting bugs, but not bugs so badly that I had to restart, retry, and most importantly lose people, money, and resources. The first bit was when I started the base management cycle. It instructed me to buy food, so, I bought food! It also mentioned to me the power situation, so, I bought fuel! A day or two later I think, it said, hey you're all out of fuel, and I'm like "but I just bought some?" Turns out, the game deleted the fact I bought some, gave me 0, and set up the whole power outage situation. I was miffed, but whatever, bugs happen right? Well, I would love to say this is the first time it randomly decided to delete my resources. For some reason when the Lab was built, it took all my med kits with it. Okay, alright, cool I guess. Then there was this mission, to shoot three zombies outside the base walls. I ran around for an absurdly long amount of time and only ever saw one zombie. I was convinced at one point that it had to be me, so i relaunched the game. No. No no. There was only one zombie, and the other two never showed up. One of the tools is an X-Ray tool where you can see into the persons organs. The game introduced Charles, a man who would pull contraband out of people when you found it with the tool. I never found a single thing inside someone. The mechanic, never, ever, EVER, worked. I would randomly lose money and points for missing contraband, despite them having no backpack with them, and no things inside their body. Okay, alright, I could understand every now and then, I could understand it's a little bug here and there, but it was every. Single. Time. Also, at one point I discovered someones brain rotting away which was an infection sign, so, sent them to the great beyond. It was an infection sign. No contest right?? Nope, 1000 down the drain and confusion and anger was all I had left. While we're at it, let's talk about the contraband. No weapons, no drugs. I would like to argue that I'm pretty sure someone carrying six jerry cans of gas and three propane tanks would be something worth taking from them so they don't make a homemade bomb in my camp. However, no. Those are not contraband. A sharp garden trowel? Not contraband. A cast iron skillet that I'm pretty sure murdered a man? Nope. Okay, I guess I could forgive that one a little bit, they need to make pancakes in camp. I loved the character Georgie, I thought he was funny. I was hoping to talk to him way more. I was hoping to talk to ANYONE way more. I guess this is the real reason for my negative review; the story mode isn't a story mode, it's just a mode that has an end to it but not really. Lemme explain. The story is just, hey the virus is mutating, find the infected, kill them. Ship survivors off. Fight waves every now and then. I was expecting to meet some characters, some recurring cast members who I could bond with. I was expecting that Georgie honestly was going to break my heart by getting infected at some point, and I hate to say it, but after the final tool? Georgie just was a dude who sat there and did nothing. Couldn't talk to him, couldn't learn more about the world, nothing. Maybe I'm just being a baby, maybe there's lore hidden that I couldn't find, maybe my game bugged out beyond my understanding and that's why I'm so upset. But the ending. The ending. You get a speech that is very poorly stitched together audio wise from Major who I didn't even realize was on the base since we never spoke in person. We learn our name is fucking Alpha. We get a cool new gun from the Major. We get two options; stay in the zone or leave to go do better things. This is the moment. This is it. We're going to be rewarded for all the hard work we did. Nope, doesn't matter what you do, you get the same outcome. Climb into bed or hop on the helicopter, either way, you're getting end credits. If you choose the bed, it just becomes endless mode. Great. Awesome. I'm not sure how to feel, I enjoy the game mechanics and hope that the bugs are knocked out fast enough, but I felt like I waited all this time for a cool story. I felt like I was waiting all this time to meet characters who depended on me to keep them safe and keep the zone running. I guess I was expecting something more than an endless mode that has three story beats in it and then just ends. No stakes, no heartbreak, no emotional side quests. It just.....feels hollow. I hope the devs can learn from this game and I hope they do go on to make more games but....this just felt over promised and under delivered. If you don't care about the story aspect and you just want a cool zombie loop game, the drone battles are pretty fun (they get repetitive but they're fun enough), there are more than enough upgrades to play around with, and if you like smashing rats with a hammer, then this game is good for you. However, I waited months for a story and just am left sad by the fact there is no story, there's no bread and butter, there's just a fun enough game you should just play on endless mode.
