Quite fun, but the game has a huge issue. Bosses are 90% of the challenge in this game. They're fun to learn and fun to execute, but if you die, you need to redo the entire dungeon from the start. It's maybe another 10 minutes of time loss but this is unacceptable just to fight a boss for a few minutes again. Please allow us some way to cut out the dungeon crawl before trying a boss we've attempted already. Save point in the respite room, quick skip to end of dungeon, just something please.

A mix of Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin and Dave the Diver. The adventuring takes place in fairly short and mostly straight forward dungeons similar to Sakuna where you bash the cute critters with your attacks to gather resources. The combat is alright if not a bit simple. It's does not have the depth of Sakuna and in a way kind of resembles playing the MMO La Tale if you remember that. Your skills are on a cool down timer, are activated in a combination of the special button and a direction. You have a dodge that can also perfect dodge if you time it on impact. Build variety comes from the unlockable skill tree and equipable badges. These require resources and the npc and store to be unlocked. The shop management works like Dave the Diver, you do a minigame to ring out purchases, pick up trash, restock etc. Selling bread earns you money to raise your stats at the trainer, and gives exp to each kind of bread you sell. Leveling a bread once provides you one skill point to use on your build.
I think the game is really good although I don't think it quite reaches the depth and enjoyment of the other two games I've compared it to. The graphics and music are top notch though and give me memories of 2D MMORPGs of the past. As of typing this, I believe there are only 2 islands released. If you try grinding and farming for everything, it's still a sizable chunk of gameplay. It's definitely worth the current asking price.

A really refreshing and funny game, nothing too complicated, you fight, you farm, you make bread and you buy things, the sales are entertaining and dynamic and the fights are way better than expected of this kind of game, classic but well done and the difficulty isn't that hard but atleast some bosses fight back and you can die, noteworthy for this kind of games
I recommand it, if you are on this page checking the comms you probably like those kind of games after all, go try it :D

fun game with a cute and amusing atmosphere, but don't buy just yet if what you're primarily interested is the bakery/shopkeeping aspect of the game. most of my fun was had through the combat aspect of the game, while the bread-selling part felt more like a minigame break than anything else. it gives me the impression that while the combat has a very solid foundation to add new enemies, weapons, etc. onto, the shopkeeping still needs more strategy and/or variety in its core loop to be interesting enough to want to play for several hours.
still, you won't lose much from trying this game out yourself if you need more foxgirls in your life like i do. the other thing i found notable is that this game has a very peppy and punchy style to it. there's no handholdy tutorials dragging you everywhere, no long maps to travel through, and no lengthy story cutscenes introducing the main character and her circumstances before setting you free. it's all very 'go, go, go!' pacing-wise so you'll easily know within 1 if not 2 hours whether you like the game.
also... love these graphics. it's like i'm playing a cartoony 2d-sidescroller mmo again, but this time i'm not bombarded by lag and my own inadequacy from being a f2p player surrounded by whales. very nice!
4/25 UPDATE: almost a year later and everything i said above still applies to the game, but the trajectory this early access is going through is nevertheless satisfying regarding the addition of new (loveable) characters, areas, events, upgrades, and more. i find games like Aeruta really come into their own as more 'stuff' gets packed into it and thus the more microdecisions the player is now allowed to make. looking forward to chapter 3!
