i was so excited for this expansion....ive played a total of 30 minutes and already hate it,,,,the first two pieces of land i buy both have cosmetic buildings that do literally nothing except take up space and they cant be removed......killed the expansion for me already do better giants this is bs

Finally get the DLC to work, load the map there is no fields or buildings on the map. Says there is an update for the mod in game but wont't download. Love this game with over 1000 hours played but every big update/dlc the game breaks.
I do not own season the pass and decided to purchase this DLC. My recommendation is that if you are like me, do not buy, it is not worth it $30. There is not enough content in this to warrant the price and I genuinely feel ripped off with this purchase.
The boats are only available on maps with boat vendors, so it could be days to months before your favorite map can support boats and "offshore" fish farming. Boats handle terribly, are easily beached (having to be reset as they cannot pull themselves off the shore) and the cargo ship ramp only really functions on docks lower than the ship; not being long enough to reach the beach when the ship is beached.
The map is okay and is typical for this version in that it is pretty, but very chopped up and only about 2/3 of the map is farmable.
None of the equipment added to the game is all that inspiring as onions is yet another time sink crop that most will end up avoiding in the long run.
Probably the only thing that might be useful is another production chain or two that will let you get more value out of crops by just building a factory.

Just go to settings from steam, Proprieties, DLC, and check the Highlands DLC box. It will start downloading and will then be avaliable in the game.

There is a problem with this DLC not appearing in the game, whether you buy it separately or you get it from the season pass doesn't matter. The big deal is that the game doesn't automatically enable it for you. So what you need to do:
1. Go in your DLC's for this game
2. Activate the DLC
3. Allow STEAM to download the DLC (pretty big, be warned)
4. Check in game if it's now activated.
This shouldn't be the case, if you buy a DLC you would like to have it downloaded and enabled. So GIANTS really need to change this for future purchases right away, this will be the major reason why people will return it.
Now regarding the DLC itself.
There are only 2 boats, 1 speedboat for fun and the other is more useful. Both are however quite slow and sluggish as if it's dragging a massive anchor around. To make it worse if it gets too close to a solid object, not even touching it either, the boat will freak out and start doing weird things. This really needs to be updated and fixed.
Worse yet, there is no clear way to lower the ramp of the big working boat so I'm really wondering how to even do that. Tried pressing on all usual buttons but all I did get to work is the crane. So really wondering why it was made this difficult.
You will be getting a JBC Fastrac 2000 4WS Series which is a light tractor, under powered as well as it can only do 150 hp. The JBC Fastrac 4000 iCON Series doing 235 hp maximum which is the same as a mod.
The JBC Fastrac 8000 iCON Series doing 348 hp maximum while a mod does 400 hp.
You also get a new car which is the Skoda Octavia, which is a regular Sedan so just ideal for driving around pretty much. It does come with a normal ending, so I do think that would be a major step forward.
You also get new store sections for 0nion planters and fishing rods having only 1 item currently while onion harvesters having 3.
I didn't check out everything yet, but for that 30 Euro and so much hype generation you do expect a bit more and more well rounded. As It stands now I'm more going towards the not worth it for the hype they tried to generate. I really would like to see the boats function a lot better and them not going nuts when hitting even slightly anything. From a gentle tab my speedboat flipped completely upside down which is very clearly not how it should work. For the tractors, I'm happy JCB joined in again but why only the low end tractors and not something more powerful so you can use that on other maps as well.
I do not think this DLC was ready to launch just yet, clearly there are many things that need extra time and effort to work while there is a lot of hype over a lot of disappointment. I wanted this DLC so badly to be great, but I'm really saddened that it didn't live up to the hype. I really hope GIANTS will take in these points and work on it more to really polish the product. At this stage, sorry I can not give this a passing grade.
Will not let me play the new expansion even though I own the season pass and have this in my library does anyone know a fix. I even re-downloaded the game in game it says I do not own it even though I do.
Played my first 4 hours on the map and it's honestly been really good. I have liked the machines more than I thought I would. and I'm impressed as a UK player with an official UK map by giants. A lot of time went into this and it definitely shows. Highland cows look great too.

really well done map and new gameplay is a cherry on top with JCB tractors and new equipment and new quads too
I'm not sure what's going on but, the new dlc says i haven't bought it. I pre-purchased it with the year one season pass. It says on the page it's in my library but it's not showing in the game. I was wondering if you could help me out. It would be much appreciated.
