As a trans person myself, I was over the moon with the representation. I love that she is not her gender, she is a person who just so happens to have transitioned. Her concept is pretty cool, but again feels like bandaids. Neat synergies tho.

I'm not super big on LGBTQ+ stuff or anything, but I'm glad that BHVR are giving us more diversity and are not afraid to actually do it. As for Orela herself, she has good perks, interesting lore and honestly a good design, not to mention the cool trailer they cooked up for this DLC. Overall, she is a very good addition to the game, simple as.
Giving this a good review just to style on the haters. Sorry a Trans Black Women exists in a video game, wait till you find out they exist in real life too.

I would give this a neutral if I could, but sadly in the DLCs current state I can't fully recommend it. Her perks are comedically bad, (minus Do No Harm), and need serious buffs, but Orela is such a cool survivor with wonderful cosmetics and voice lines.
Do NOT get this DLC for her perks, only get it if you like her as a character or want to support DbD's first canonically trans survivor.
Edit: She's as quiet as Ada, worth the purchase alone. Voice trained tgirls stay winning c;

I normally don't review Survivor Chapters but I felt this was a huge W. Good behavior by devs deserves to be recognized.
Great job devs. You actually did good; please add more characters with voice lines during lobby & in game, as well as expanding on the lore in good faith to immersion. Keep it up.

The character's outfits are kinda mediocre. Perks are not great. I don't like her all that much to be honest.
Survivor being too quiet. The perks are not anything new (unlike the boon perks with Mikaela). Plus the end of the trailer is goofy as hell, "My name is Orela", I am Steve ahhh quote
Another mediocre set of perks and a survivor that seems to have 0 sound balancing.
I thought BHVR was supposed to start working on making all survivors having a proper balanced sound for consistent tracking, instead they go on and release one that barely makes any sounds when running even when injured, very nice.
Warning: there are quite a lot of bigots in low rank and there is a high chance you'll get tunneled out with this character because she's trans.
Otherwise she is an authentic character and not just somebody with a "trans" label attached. Hope the moderation for this kind of stuff gets better.
Orela is a win for LGBTQ+ representation and horror fans alike. Out of her three perks rapid response currently is the weakest, but can be still used for some value even without a proper build. Her lore is good and her character model is well handled. I'm looking forward to see more diverse survivors in the future with unique perks and backstories!

This is a pretty neat little release! I know I'll probably earn a few Clown awards from angry Bigots for saying this (thanks for the Steam points, btw 💖) but I am happy to see BHVR adding a Black trans woman to the game, especially in a time like this where transphobia is on the rise. Not only is Orela trans, but there's a lot of other stuff to her as a Character, leading to her actually being representation well done instead of just a "token" addition to the game!
The voice acting - Yes, she has Voice acting also done by a Black Trans woman! - has a lot of care and effort put into it, and I also enjoy her lore and cosmetics quite a bit!
Her Perks admittedly aren't anything to special or powerful, but they can be fun to mess around with! Especially when you build entire set-ups around them!
I do believe that Rapid Response needs a Buff though, as the pay-off simply isn't worth the exhaustion and your revealed location .
Overall, I am VERY happy with this release and with Orela Rose as an addition to Dead by Daylight! 🏳️⚧️
