Wow. Just wow.. whatta a complete waste of my time..
This "game" is only playable if:
- you are a english native speaker and you live in the years of the lord 1600-1700
- you own and actually manage a antiquariat in the said (alternative fantasy world) old times
- you like insane and totally abstract puzzles that kill your neurons one by one
- you are one of the developers of this "game"
- you like wasting your time on stupid games
- you were fooled by Strange Horticulture and would like to be fooled again
- you like throwing away those 17 bucks instead of buying food or maybe drinks with them.
What a complete waste of a maybe good story buried by stupid mechanics and absolutely crappy puzzles..

Turns out running an occult shop is 10% business, 20% archaeology, and 70% pretending you totally meant to summon that ghost. Between cursed trinkets, eccentric locals, and a cat demanding attention mid-ritual—Undermere never disappoints! 🕯️🐈⬛📜

I adored Strange Horticulture, so I was so excited to play this game as well and it did not disappoint. It was definitely a little more difficult than Strange Horticulture so be prepared for that going in. It has a lot of the same mechanics and vibes as the first game without just feeling like more of the same, unique enough to be fresh but also similar enough to feel right at home. I overall really enjoyed myself and found myself sad when I got to the end because I wasn't ready to be done, I will be anxiously waiting to see what these devs do next!

The graphics are solid and the drag-and-drop mechanics felt smooth, but the gameplay and story were underwhelming and confusing. The clues are vague, hints don't really help, and you end up guessing the answer instead of actually solving puzzles. I spent way too much time having to figure out things like if "stone" meant the material or short form for gemstone. There are too many artifacts overall. The auto-labeling for the artifacts was helpful though.
The gameplay itself was too repetitive: Ring the bell, click through dialogue, pick an artifact, repeat. The interactive maps are fun to explore but they don't connect clearly to each other. The character section is pointless and feels like a missed opportunity. The new day animation is disappointing and adds no value.
You can't skip clients, so if you're stuck, you're stuck until you realize what part of the game you missed. I liked the idea of an index, but this one doesn’t save your place and flips back to the start every time. An alphabet running along at the top might’ve helped.
It's also unclear when the game actually ends. I still had unsolved clues sitting around when the epilogue suddenly started.
For a sequel, this is just meh. I expected better.

idk, i liked strange horticulture better. mostly because with that one i could figure out all the puzzles. with this one i just feel stupid. sometimes after i've used all the hints and looked up extra hints online i still have no idea how i was intended to know how to find the answer. maybe skip this one if you're dumb like me.

For the love of Jupiter (the cat), avoid playing the epilogue. While the epilogue of Strange Horticulture ran you through the handful of plants you missed out on, this epilogue basically has you re-identify the majority the artifacts using vaguer and vaguer clues.
I finished the game 2 hours ago. I know the identities of the last 3 items I need to identify. The game won't let me identify them. I usually hunt achievements, secret endings, etc but this frustration of the epilogue has me strongly inclined to uninstalling the game. I suppose that's a special sort of talent eh? An end-game so frustrating that someone who loved the main game now despises it?

Read some review saying how this game kept reveling new things and making the gameplay deeper and richer. Unfortunately, I'm halfway through and the core loop is still the same old "get some hints at to which item to pick, go through your books to interpret the hints and all your items to figure out which one matches best" and constitutes 95% of the game. The story isn't really engaging and the few choices I get to make don't feel really impactful. Maybe targeted at a more chill player than I am, but right now I don't feel compelled to continue

"'I have nothing to remark' MFER IT'S AN EYEBALL FOLLOWING MY CURSOR"
"Friend-shaped :)"
"Idk what you do but you're on thin ice"
"It's giving bad vibes chief"
The game is really immersive and cozy. :)

After playing and loving Strange Horticulture I knew I had to get this one on day one! In fact I was so excited, that for 2 hours this afternoon I checked Steam every 5 minutes to see if it was finally out.
Only 1 1/2 hours in and I can already tell it will be one of my new favourites.
I love the dark yet cozy atmosphere the devs managed to capture. It's perfect for cuddling up with a blanket and big mug of hot chocolate (which is exactly what I did when I started the game for the first time today).
The riddles are a bit more challenging than in Strange Horticulture, but I personally enjoy that a lot.
There is a lot of mythology embedded into this game which makes it incredibly engaging.
I can't wait to figure out every ending and find out how the story will unfold.
I also enjoy how the UI improved compared to Strange Horticulture. Exploring your tiny Antiquities store is so much more fun now. I can't wait to absolutely most certainly 10000% not touch anything at all while Eli is gone 🤫
Thank you to the devs for the work you put into this game. You can really feel all the love, thought and hard work that was put into this game.
Also there is Jupiter. Need I say more??
Edit after finishing my first playthrough: 10/10 as expected

Has a cat you can pet ... if anything else needs adding then it's a solid puzzle game, just long enough so the gameplay loop doesn't become boring, pleasing art, eerie vibes.
Not sure it captivated me enough to want to replay it for the rest of the endings, but overall thoroughly enjoyable, and its prompted me to dust off it's predecessor from the deep depths of my un-played games.

Awesome puzzle game that gives 'escape room in a box' vibes (tied together with this wonderful narrative), very tactile, especially on Steam Deck.
The story is great, I loved the characters (Barton, lol, you delicious impulsive mess:D) & the puzzles were intuitive and a great match for me and my wife.
The art and sound are just incredible, such a *polished* experience from start to finish.
