The fact that you have to fail a dozen runs to get useful blocks that make any of the game's systems work in an actually satisfying way is immensely frustrating. Theres also just a lot of awkward relationships between buildings that make for annoying and unsatisfying design patterns. You also don't know what buildings are where after you place them, which makes trying to strategize around adjacency nigh impossible, and more generally the game's ui is not very easy to read. There's potential here to be a fresh take on Islanders/Dorfromantic, but this just isn't there yet.

The grammar mistakes and typos are kinda jarring. PLEASE make it better. Things like: "choises" instead of choices. "Let's" when you mean "Lets". "Lets you skip a turn" not "Let us you skip a turn". Let's = Let us. "It's" when you mean "its". "Satisfies the need of Nature in its range" not "it's range". It's = it is. "it is range" is wrong. "Adventages" instead of "Advantages". Please for the love of god, get an editor or someone who speaks English to go over the base text before you fully release this game.

I really wanted this to be like Islanders, but it's kind of like if you ran Islanders through google translate and threw it up on Steam. I can see the potential, but given that it's been two years since release, it doesn't seem like the developer wants this to succeed. Trust the other reviews and skip this one.

It is just a good game but it is not fun as GTA 5

Dorfromantik meets townscaper. Fun puzzle game. Accidentally blew up a lot of people, which made them unhappy / dead.

the game is great, it's fun and satisfying. the only problem is that is not optimized for Steam Deck. I don't have much money and my only way of playing steam game is the Steam Deck, which "only" costs 400 $ instead of the 1000 or more for a pc. the point is, it's difficult to play pile up! on it and i hope the devs make it playable

Might be a fun game but one of the worst programs I ever run. Horrible controls with very little option to change it. You can easily soft lock yourself in the tutorial if you ever do something sooner then the tutorial tells you. Menu just randomly disappears (it is still there because when I hover over it it shows the same text when it was there). No "remove last placed" option. It says press "F8" to open the feedback page but it did absolutely nothing. At some point the menu just would not open after pressing "ESC".

I will not refund my purchase as to support the devs, but I can't recommend the game in its current state. I know this is early access, but I fear the fundamentals might impede this game from reaching a quality which is worth a buy. The game is beautiful, the visuals are amazing and the builds that come to fruition are excellent and unique (the day and night cycle is lovely), but I feel that I didn't have a connection to any of my cities beyond a simple "damn, how much longer till I win?" (You have to follow a certain formula if you want to beat maps). The game doesn't do a good job of running you through the tutorial, it's simply not intuitive enough to figure out how to properly stack blocks. It kind of forces you to choose between aesthetically pleasing architecture and confusingly ugly but cohesive structural integrity. There's no little people running about, no customization, no life. Every level might have well been simple blocks instead of dainty, eccentric buildings in the end. The gameplay is really where I found myself struggling to have a good time. Stacking your little settlement is a convoluted mess visually. I spent about 90 percent of my play through in the overhead view which completely dampens the charming visuals. Stacking buildings precisely is a frustrating affair, and I often opted just to slam them wherever I could and get on with the game. This imprecise stacking also lead to me blowing my city sky-high multiple times because I didn't see THE TINY CORNER of my furnace touching an electrical generator many stories below. It's just not intuitive enough to understand what's happening on this game, at some point you start piling up blocks without purpose, and then you win. "Winning" leaves no satisfaction, only void. I felt let down after playing this, but if you're just casually running it, it should be fine somewhat. Hopefully when the full game releases it'll be better.

I'm saddened to say that I really wanted to like this game. I'm not really sure what I was expecting. The game for me had very buggy optimization, like it would lag. Perhaps when this game is out of early access and fully released, the gameplay will be smoother. Also, I know that English isn't the developers first language, but get someone to spellcheck your grammar. It'll make the game look better.

Blew up my civilization three times. I regret nothing and looking forward to blew up more in a calming fashion. Of course, you'll be *piling up* more than blewing up unless you're a blind idiot like me. Nevertheless, doing both are satisfying for sure! 🐋

This game is... slightly less mindless than it seems. It looks like one of those tech demos you see going viral on twitter, with the developer creating a context-based system for connecting houses; but the game itself does have a couple of challenges after all, even if their fun is questionable. It also had a number of bugs when I played it — annoying (like every new map starting from defeat), but not gamebreaking. All in all, it gave me a couple of hours of mindless timekilling I expected.

This could possibly be a good game, but it does not play well on a Win 10 with an NVIDIA 2 gb graphics card. It is a slow and agonizing play, and with it slowing my desktop to a brick, it makes it nearly impossible to get into any real settings.
