Pressing 2 will shuffle the tiles. Holding 2 sorts all the tiles alphabetically.
Too bad there is no option to enable that makes the game simply automatically sort everything alphabetically whenever new tiles are added. Holding 2 turn after turn after turn adds nothing to the game.
Surely if for whatever reason I wanted to scramble everything, I would just press the shuffle button again myself.

I'm worse at the game than I thought and having to press the shuffle/sort button every turn doesn't make me feel any better. I'm trapped in a Skinner box where the reward is an alphabetized . . . alphabet. Why doesn't it just sort things automatically?!?
I'm lazy, ChatGPT has been writing essays and planning vacations for me for years, and I honestly can't wait for AI to take over both this tedious part of the game as well as my imaginary job ASAP.
Bezos just keeps blasting off celebs into space; meanwhile, I'm over here struggling to spell 4-letter words. Send help.

Not there yet, unfortunately.
Gets very frustrating when the game just FILLS your board with vowels... Puts you into a completely unwinnable situation and it happens very often. I've also found a lot of the upgrades to be very boring and unimaginative. Many don't feel good or useful and synergy so far has seemed extremely elusive to me. I don't think ten rounds is enough to really get a fun build going the vast majority of the time and I don't really find myself looking forward to the end of a round as a result, which is a huge problem for a game like this. These two issues combined just sap my will to play.
At a minimum, there needs to be some kind of weighting system to the RNG to ensure that the player isn't completely inundated with vowels if they already have a bunch on the board. At least make it less likely than it is. I may come back to try again if this is fixed.

I cannot recommend this game cause it's too much based on RNG.
The two easiest modes are pretty doable if your vocabulary isn't that of a toddler.
From hard it gets HARD. Meaning you need good rolls on your perks or you're not gonna make it.
Getting boards with 4xA, 4xO, 3xT, 3xE and a X and C isn't gonna give me a lot of options now, does it?
Also, you can focus on extra points or being able to switch your letters into other letters, then a special round comes along where special tiles don't count. Have fun with your 5 accumulated gold tiles not doing shit the whole round.
It's just too much RNG on several different fronts, instead of based on how many words you actually know.
Oh, and just to make my point clear, I ended up using ChatGPT for 2 games straight to see if it was possible, and it's not. You can only win if the game gives you the tiles to make long words with, if it doesn't, you're screwed anyway.

My final round was "Special tiles don't trigger" right as I had set up to get a ton of gold tiles, which killed the whole fun of the run I'd been building. Not really interested in playing much more if your whole run can just get undone at random like that.

In a strangely sadistic way, I deeply enjoy this game's difficulty absolutely kicking my buttocks—an inevitable result, I suppose, seeing as English is not my first language. Nonetheless, I'm glad I've spent the very reasonable price on this little indie gem, and I'm genuinely fascinated by the way it tickles my brain. I'm looking forward for any future updates (should there be any), and hoping for an enthusiastic modder community to one day allow me to try this in my mother tongue. In the meantime, I shall continue my battle with Hard Mode!

Alphabetization only lasts 1 turn. This is every librarian's worst nightmare. The Default Sort setting either doesn't work as intended, or doesn't work at all.
By the same token, the Show Tooltips setting doesn't seem to work either. Despite disabling it, I'm still getting instructions game after game.

This game is insanely hard. I don't mean that the English language is hard, but the way the game presents modifiers, upgrades, and the overall score system is too harsh.
Playing on hard mode, if you are 3 rounds into the run you can already be at the Reset/Lose scenario. It is almost impossible to build up a run late, and when you start losing, it's almost impossible to find a way out.
The scaling doesn't make any sense, and outside beating A,B,C once, I am not sure I will continue to play.
HUGE fan of GMTK, even participated in the last jam, however, this game isn't polished enough.
Needs more modifiers, needs stronger upgrades, needs a way out when your run isn't going too well.
The idea is good, execution is poor. I'm not saying "oh in balatro they do this, try to do that as well", I have played countless deck builders and rogue-likes. I just wish the Reset/Lose point would be further in the run, instead of having to reset on round 1-4 every time I don't get strong starting modifiers/upgrades.

good, but really lacks replayability for a roguelike. after literally an hour i was like "cool, i'm done now". Unfortunately, the refund window had elapsed, so i kept playing- I ended up finding more cool stuff than my first few runs, but a majority of the perks are really boring, and aren't useable in the harder modes (at all)

a step above from the Other scrabble game because we're not abstaining from Hegel yet, that works, however Episteme, and especially, Goatse, are big misses - fortunately there is a feature in this game which lets you send the deliver an email telling them how much these words matter - there is also a feature on steam called a review
