really fun game to play with friends unless your friend is an idiot and throws a grenade in his bunker blowing up all the shit you spent 30 hrs grinding for

Love the game, sadly its filled with trolls and my 3 hour lobby was destroyed by one guy stealing all my stuff and hiding it in the expedition so no one could find it. Theres no ban option, report option, you can only kick them and they can rejoin seconds after you kick them. You guys need a ban and a report option or i just see this situation getting worse.

Note: I don't regret my purchase, if this game gets more work and updates, great, if not, I'm not surprised by what I've heard about the developer. Misery could be a really good game, but it's overshadowed by a variety of problems in its early development and I cannot say in good faith if they will ever be rectified. I will draw a lot of comparisons to Stalker as this is heavily derivative of the STALKER series. The graphical style isn't bad, but it is massively underwhelming compared to the not so recent Abiotic Factor which managed it far better and with insanely better performance and optimisation. This game is lacking some serious work in regards to optimisation or there's serious problems with a memory leak or something, because the game will just tank performance eventually for nothing. It goes without saying that the game often has numerous bizarre issues; such as the hotbar not working, maps not loading for clients, map generation placing things in idiotic places (like artifacts on top of anomalies, making it impossible to grab), guns getting stuck on reload? getting stuck on terrain places, building mechanics just simply not working, etc... Area variety is kind of sad, all maps feel horribly empty in both resources and scenery. Crafting and traders are also horribly set currently, there's very little use to traders most of the time outside of a few key items. (both because the economy is awful or they just don't sell anything worth wasting rubles on) Crafting has different problems, plastic is a resource that just seems forgotten about, I don't know why it's so popular yet so difficult to locate, it's not even sold like the others... Plenty of potential recipes are missed out on also, military gas masks for example explicitly state the combination of a PMK-2 gas mask and helmet, but you can't make them? Performance is just weird. It's all over the place, Apartment maps tend to be the crux of huge framerate drops. Artifact hunting just kind of sucks, good luck. Weapons and gear. Information on basically everything is damn non-existant. All melee weapons may as well be doing the same thing to enemies. All guns are clearly similar outside of a few outliers *cough Saiga 12 cough* and many are just horribly balanced outside of any expectation... (AK-47 chambered in 5.56 instead of 7.62 anyone?) Inventory management isn't bad, but stack sizes are often ridiculous, bullet stacks for example are idiotically small and limited, which makes buying ammo horrible and it doesn't even make sense when you need to hand load a magazine first typically? So... how does this f#ck up in all the little ways that even current Stalker 2 is better at? Traders, it's been said, but even trade in stalker is better and that games economy was garbage, so this ones is worse than garbage. There's basically no real use for them, they rarely have anything that matters outside of a few bags, you can easily play without interacting with them? If there's no use for them, that's a fundamental design failure. Anomalies, stalker handles anomalies in a way that makes them both fearsome but also navigable, especially for the budding artifact hunters. Stalker anomalies can either be temporariloy subverted via the trusty bolt throw or are much more clear in their area of effect, in this, they're just a huge pain in the ass and if an artifact is inside one, rip. Stalker artifacts are also much more consistent, finding them in this is not necessarily uncommon, just very random and I have had a tremendously unlucky streak (seeing as trying to find any with apartment maps if not going to fucking happen). Loot, stalker loot is consistent, it may not be excessively rewarding, but when you kill something, you get something, or whatever they were wearing and holding typically. In this, it's largely a tedious case of getting hit or shot at for no reward. Zombies and plague doctors are horrible examples of frustration. Most mutants are not rewarding for getting rid of either. Even Stalker fixed this to a degree with mutants. Honestly, just pick something Stalker does that is a feature of gameplay in this and you'll see this is inferior. Building mechanics, I've rarely been so confused and frustrated by building mechanics like this, it just sucks and is horrible to play with. I'm genuinely so confused by how bad it is. I've played countless survival games with base building and this is the worst. In all honesty, I got this because "multiplayer stalker", my friends had this and I doubt friends were going to grab an old STALKER game and mod it. This game even tries to cash in on a mods name I believe. A sad pitiful thing. I've had fun with friends but this is the type of game, that, if it didn't exist on steam tomorrow, I wouldn't be surprised and wouldn't care. I have more fun games, better made games and they're much older too. loving the vibe so far, hopefully nothing bad happens and we dont lose everything :) after the DMCA incident I've decided to buy the support pack to help the devs and show support after the damage this situation caused, hope to see this fun game evolve well and encourage whoever can, to do the same update: THIS GAME IS TENSE. We were exploring a city when an air-raid siren started and bombing began at the same time. My friend panics and runs out of the building heading for the bunker. I stay inside, and he gets carpet-bombed right in the face, dies (obviously), and I have to sprint to his body to grab the most valuable stuff and run back to base while the emission is coming. While I’m running, the guy has already respawned, crosses paths with me and says "YOU HAVE A MUTANT THING RIGHT NEXT TO YOU" I completely ignore him because I’m full of loot and keep running in the direction he came from (the bunker). Within seconds, I hear behind me the sounds of some creature devouring someone. great fun, we have indeed lost our things more than once :)

It's Stalker but cheaper and better. Just buy it, you'll spend more on a lunch.

Saw a gnome as I was actively running from a giant orb of death. Then I got on my PC and booted up the game

I thought Misery was just the title, turns out it’s also a warning label.

I played Misery with a friend, and honestly, the title couldn’t be more accurate. We spent half the time trying to survive, the other half yelling at each other for running from weird animal looking creatures that killed us both. The game’s world is dark and brutal, everything wants you dead. Weird black orbs? Yeah, sometimes they teleport you, sometimes they just vaporize you. No warning, no logic, still fun as hell. It’s frustrating, but somehow also addictive. When you finally make it through a day together, it actually feels like a victory. Watch out for the sirenes though.

Developers, please bring a purpose to the game. I don't know why I'm alive or what I'm supposed to survive for. It's just a game about loot. Please make some story.

Upon starting the tutorial, I found two things I thought I would never see in this game. A squeaky hammer and a bike horn. The game demands me to clown around. 10/10, would down to clown again in slavic countryside.

I am tired of devs trying to "hide" their fecal matter fetishes under the idea of "gameplay mechanics". Why can't you keep your Snickers™ candy bars inside the toilet bowl dudes? You just shit on the floor and ask "why"? The devs response, "Well......it is a useful gameplay mechanic" You took time out of your day to 3d model and code a swirly pile of turd because, "you had shieeeet to do". While this is nothing compared to Duke Nukem Forever fecal smear mechanics, it is just gross. You don't even appear to provide a crinkly diaper to hold your Hershey™ kisses. I actually I am happy that within 4-5 years probably that AI will make the artist go extinct of the way of the doo doo bird. So please have a good one and celebrate your success with your game devs.

Would have really liked this game, but if anyone gets disconnected they lose all of their stuff.

Game is interesting but very rough around the edges. I however can't support a Dev that is known to be anti-Ukraine and uses derogatory terms when upset.

The experience of just trying to play this game with my friends has been miserable so far. No matter what we did, neither of us can create a lobby, it's gotten even worse since the open beta which is incredibly funny. Fix your game, devs, shipping an unplayable mess is absolutely unacceptable. I will change my review whenever the game is actually playable again. EDIT: The connection issue has been fixed, but now the game crashes after 2 hours of continuous gameplay. It happened to 3 out of 4 people in our lobby. The game's a bit more playable now, it'd be cool not to lose all my progress in the lobby due to crashes though.

It's the epitamy of "youtuber plays it for a single video" kind of game. So extremely barebones currently.
